  6. This file contains information on the prices, policies and methods for
  7. purchasing Quarterdeck Upgrades.  Information is contained here for both
  8. American and Canadian customers; please note carefully which applies to
  9. you.  Also note that all prices are subject to change without notice.

  22. I.   Eligibility for Upgrades
  23.  
  24. To purchase an upgrade for any of the products listed below, we require
  25. a valid serial number on file for the product(s) currently owned.  If
  26. you have sent in your copy of the original product warranty card, you
  27. are a registered user, and you should be receiving an upgrade notice and
  28. order form in the mail shortly.  If you have not sent in your
  29. registration card, we will require the original product warranty card
  30. from the original package, and a photocopy of the documentation or
  31. original diskette which displays the product's serial number.

  70. III. Upgrade Policies

  72.   -  Each upgrade includes upgrade documentation and diskette.
  73.   -  American purchasers of Quarterdeck US$10 compatibility update disks
  74.      after June 1, 1991 receive a US$10 discount off the price of the
  75.      upgrade.  Proof of purchase (invoice #) required.
  76.   -  Canadian purchasers of Quarterdeck C$14 compatibility update disks
  77.      after June 1, 1991 receive a C$14 discount off the price of the
  78.      upgrade.  Proof of purchase (invoice #) required.
  79.   -  Purchasers of NEW Quarterdeck products or upgrades (not
  80.      compatibility updates) after August 2, 1991 are eligible for
  81.      a free upgrade.  Proof of purchase is required.

  118. When placing an order by mail, fax or via Compuserve, please
  119. provide the following information:

  121.      1.   Name
  122.      2.   Address
  123.      3.   Daytime phone number and fax number
  124.      4.   If you are not yet a registered user, you MUST include the
  125.           original product warranty card from the original package, and
  126.           a photocopy of the documentation or original diskette which
  127.           displays the product's serial number.  If you are a registered
  128.           user, you need only supply the serial number and indicate that
  129.           you have registered.

  147.      makes its memory addresses mappable as High RAM.  Note:
  148.      Stealth technology is dependent upon ROM design.  ROM
  149.      implementations by hardware manufacturers may cause one or
  150.      more of Stealth's strategies not to work.

  214.      initialization.  This feature is helpful for programs that
  215.      require more memory while they are initializing than they do
  216.      once they are resident.
  217.   -  Optimize can now automatically exclude portions of high
  218.      memory accessed by device drivers and TSR's.  This avoids
  219.      conflicts with hardware that previous versions failed to
  220.      detect.
  221.   -  Users can now create "response files" that QEMM-386's LOADHI
  222.      programs can use to get information about where and how to
  223.      load programs high.  This is valuable for network users who
  224.      load TSRs from public batch files on the network.
  225.   -  Optimize now lets users view, browse and play with the list
  226.      of device drivers and TSRs that the program has relocated to
  227.      high-memory--allowing users to perform "What-if?" analyses
  228.      with their memory configuration.
